How work comes to you

  1. 01

    Apply on the website

About five minutes, no account needed. Include your LinkedIn and what you've built. We reply by email.

  2. 02

    Verify in the member portal

When your experience fits current or upcoming work, we email an invite. Sign in with Google and complete the five checks.

  3. 03

    Get matched

When a project needs your verified skills and time zone, you get an offer by email and in the portal, with the scope, hours and rate.

  4. 04

    Accept and start

No penalty for saying no. Accept, sign the project NDA in the portal, then join the project's Slack channel and the first stand-up.

A one-week sprint

We work Agile. The project lead keeps the backlog with the client, and each sprint runs from planning to a demo and a retrospective.

Time and place

Working hours across three time zones

YouProject leadClient
Overlap
  1. Fully remote

Work from wherever you live. Nobody moves or commutes.

  2. Two to three hours' overlap

With your project lead's working day, for the stand-up and quick questions. The rest of your hours are yours to set.

  3. Ten hours a week or more

Per project. Part-time is fine, and you can keep other clients.

  4. Up to two projects at once

So each project gets your full attention.

Tools

  1. Member portal

Offers, weekly updates, hours, invoices and project documents in one place.

  2. Google Meet

    Stand-ups, client check-ins and demos.

  3. GitHub

Code, reviews and issues, in the client's organisation or ours.

  4. Slack

One channel per project, for quick questions and updates during your working hours.

What we expect

  1. Reviewed work

Every change is reviewed, including the project lead's.

  2. AI used well

Use any tool that helps, check what it produces, and own every line you ship.

  3. Responsive on Slack

Reachable on Slack during your working hours, and replies within a working day at most.

  4. NDA and IP

A network agreement when you join and an NDA for each project, both signed in the portal. Work done for a client belongs to the client once paid.

  5. Conflicts declared

Tell us before a project if you work with a competitor or a related company.

  6. Two weeks' notice

Before leaving a project, so the team can hand over cleanly.

How you get paid

You work as an independent contractor and handle your own taxes. Every offer shows your rate before you accept.

  1. 01

    Earn into your balance

Hours your project lead approves each week are added to your balance in the member portal.

  2. 02

    Request a payout

Once your balance passes the minimum payout, request it from the portal. Waiting for a larger amount keeps transfer fees low.

  3. 03

    Paid when the client pays

We pay out once the client's deposit or balance for that work has arrived, through Airwallex, or PayPal where Airwallex isn't available.

How validation works

CVs, portfolios and even video interviews can be faked or generated now. We check what a person can actually do, including how well they work with AI, and we keep checking on every project.
  1. 01

    Identity

Government ID with a live selfie check, a video call with simple live checks, and payment details in the same name.

  2. 02

    Provenance

We confirm the work you show is yours: what you shipped, the code or commit history behind it, references checked through company email, and a walkthrough of your own past work.

  3. 03

    Skill

A live, paid work sample in their field with AI tools allowed. We grade whether they check the AI's output, stay in scope and explain their trade-offs. Hardware engineers debug a real board; scientists analyse a dataset they have not seen.

  4. 04

    Track record

Every project adds milestone reliability, client ratings and review by the Noise Limited lead.

  5. 05

    Ongoing checks

Identity re-checked on each new project, random code reviews, and conflict-of-interest declarations.

Each skill on a profile shows how we know it: stated by the member, tested by us, or proven on a project. Matching only counts tested and proven skills.

Levels

  1. Verified

Passed identity, provenance and skill checks. Joins teams under a lead.

  2. Proven

Delivered at least two projects with strong ratings. Can own a workstream.

  3. Lead

Has led a project to a happy client. Runs teams and reviews others' work.

  4. Advisor

Senior scientists and engineers who review plans and results a few hours a month.

Questions specialists ask

  • Is work guaranteed?

No. We invite you when a project matches your verified skills and time zone. Some members work most months, others a few projects a year.

  • Do you take students, interns and fresh graduates?

Yes. You join teams as an associate and work under a project lead, with every change reviewed, and build a verified record with each project.

  • Can I keep my job or other clients?

Yes, as long as there is no conflict of interest and you can give the project its agreed hours.

  • How do we communicate?

Applying is on this website and needs no account. Verification, offers, hours and invoices happen in the member portal, and we email you at each step. Day to day, the team talks on Slack and meets on Google Meet.

  • When do I need to work?

Mostly when you like. We only ask for two to three hours' overlap with your project lead's working day.

  • When do I get paid?

Approved hours go to your balance in the portal. Request a payout once it passes the minimum, and we pay it once the client has paid for that work.

  • How much will I earn?

Rates depend on your level and the project. Every offer shows the rate before you accept it.

  • Which countries can you pay?

Most countries, through Airwallex or PayPal. We can't work with US citizens or residents, or with people in sanctioned countries.

  • How long does verification take?

Usually one to two weeks, once there is work your experience fits.

Apply

Tell us what you build. If it fits current or upcoming work, we'll invite you to the verification steps. Starting a project is never guaranteed: it depends on matching work.
